I learned a lot about this tutorial. I learned about various blending and lighting techniques. However I think the thing that caused me to learn the most about Photoshop in this tutorial was the amount of personal effort that had to be put in. The directions were a bit unclear and not terribly specific. This forced you as a user to use your knowledge to help blend and make the image while simultaneously showing you new techniques you can master on top of that. I thought that my blending on the ruins that were more towards the foreground was pretty rough. However I thought I had done enough that the blending was decent.

One of the techniques that I really thought was helpful was the way they added lighting to the top of the mountain. They had me create a layer of a color then use a mask to highlight tips on the edge of the mountain where I wanted to create the light reflections. Next I lowered the opacity and changed the blending mode until I thought that I accurately created a sun highlight. In the end I was pretty satisfied with this tutorial and what it taught me.
