Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

Where do I buy books and how much do they cost?

All textbooks are included in the cost for short-term courses. Welding courses may require a few essential basic tools to begin class.

When should I register for courses?

Short-term classes require full payment when registering or a payment plan can be arranged. Registration should be made at least 2 – 4 weeks before classes begin, especially if additional documentation is required. It is suggested that you register early since some classes fill quickly.

How do I register for a short-term course?

Registration can be done by telephone or in person. Full payment is required to register or a payment plan can be arranged.

I received a diploma from a foreign country. Is this acceptable?

The Adult Education administrators would have to make a decision based on many factors. Please contact the Adult Education office for assistance, (937) 854-6297.

Do I need a high school diploma or GED to take courses?

Short-term classes do not require a high school equivalency. However, MVCTC is a provider of the Aspire and Ohio Adult Diploma Program which will assist you in earning your high school equivalency in conjunction with taking short-term classes.
