Throughout the summer the construction team has worked diligently to keep the project moving forward. The weather has been cooperative and allowed the district to accomplish many of our summer construction goals.
Students and staff have started transitioning into the temporary spaces as the school year is now under way. The temporary instructional spaces have created some of their own challenges in regards to noise levels and logistics. We continue to re-evaluate our options but additional learning space is extremely limited during this phase of the project. This includes several new routes to allow students to access the completed North and South wings.
As you can see from the pictures, the East Building demolition is still taking place and should conclude by mid-September. The removal of the building will now allow the construction crews the ability to finish the structural steel of the spine on the east side of the project. The overall goal will be to enclose the majority of the spine for winter, which will allow crucial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work to continue on schedule.
