During the month of February, the construction team has focused on completing the MAC and kitchen area. Another key area of focus has been enclosing the building spine. That has made it possible to begin to heat the second story and install drywall and paint. The health department inspection is pending in the kitchen area and will be completed soon. The district does not plan to move our students into the MAC for regular lunch service until approximately April 11. We will hold prom in the MAC on Saturday, April 9.
The contractors continue to work on the Agricultural Complex. Fencing will be installed in the next week or so. Several important items are on backorder, such as electrical transfer switches and garage doors, and are keeping us from finishing up the new animal barn and swine facility. Mr. Hershberger and his students planted pasture seed last fall so we are excited to see the new grass pop out of the ground as spring arrives.
Across the remainder of the spine, the contractors are continuing with masonry walls, stud walls, and mechanical rough in. All of the concrete slabs in the spine have now been poured and the majority of the masonry block walls have been installed.
On the outside of the building, metal roof panels, insulation and clerestory glass continues to be installed on the east and west side of the spine.
