During the months of June, July and early August, the construction team has continued to focus their efforts in construction areas A, B, C and H, which represent biotechnology, cosmetology, culinary arts, early childhood education, health occupations, hospitality services, medical laboratory, and pre-nursing. In addition, this area also encompasses all of student services, administrative and safety offices, student clinic, staff break rooms and multiple conference rooms of varying capacity.
In areas A, B, and C, the majority of the walls are in place and studded. Drywall is being installed in area A and B and will continue in area C over the next several weeks. Overhead rough in of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing elements are being installed throughout areas A, B, and C.
Roofing work over areas A, B, and C is nearing completion and helps ‘dry-in’ the space so more interior work can take place. Storefront and curtain walls are also being installed on the exterior of area A to help enclose the building. Two large skylights have now been installed in the early childhood laboratory.
The construction photos that have been added to this update show the current photo of the space and the virtual rendering so that you can see the progress that has been made and how much work remains.
Punch list items continue to be addressed throughout the remainder of the building as the contractors work to finalize those areas so that all attention can be focused on the remainder of the project. Currently, it is estimated that 88% of the project is complete with an expected completion date of mid-February 2024 for the building and mid-August 2024 for the remaining site work, such as asphalt, landscaping and other miscellaneous items.
