October 2023 Construction Update From Dr. Weldy
The construction project is now 93% complete!
The past month has been spent enclosing the exterior of the final building phase of the project and installing plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Epoxy flooring has been installed in certain areas, such as Culinary Arts, and painting is moving forward as interior spaces move closer to completion. Kitchen equipment will be installed soon, and the casework for the Early Childhood, Cosmetology, and Culinary Arts programs is scheduled to be in place towards the end of October or the beginning of November.
As winter approaches, the construction team wants to ensure that the final spaces under renovation are conditioned so that finishes can continue to be installed. The exterior block is in the final weeks of being installed, and the vast majority of the roof is in place. Almost all of the exterior glass has been installed, with the exception of the hallway that sits directly behind the temporary Cosmetology lab. That area will have to wait until the old Cosmetology lab is demolished so that it can be constructed.
