The construction project is approximately 98% complete. During the course of the project, the construction team and contractors have logged more than 839,950 hours to reach this point.
As you can see from the photos, some spaces such as cosmetology, early childhood, and a few other areas are just waiting on their final clean and to have furniture installed. Some other areas are being painted, drywall finished, ceiling pads installed and/or having final mechanical checks being conducted before flooring is placed.
The district is still planning to move staff members to their new spaces starting on February 12, 2024. Staff who will be moving were invited on a tour during the first week of January so they could visualize their space and start planning their individual moves. An outside moving company will be utilized to move the majority of items and they will be supported by the district’s maintenance team.
After the staff has been moved, the old cosmetology lab and the South Building are scheduled for demolition. Once these two structures are removed, the contractors will begin the final phase of the project by finishing the front entryway, installing parking lots, final grading and seeding the soil around the remodeled and expanded facility and placing any landscaping that is needed. Due to the weather, some of these items will not be addressed until the warmer weather returns to the Miami Valley.
