February 2024 Construction Update from Dr. Weldy
After five long years, it is hard to believe that the district is moving the final groups of staff members into their completed classrooms and offices! Only a very small handful of staff remain to be moved and that will take place throughout the remainder of the school year when it is convenient. You can see from the photos that the move was a massive undertaking but it went very smoothly thanks to the efforts of our maintenance and technology teams, staff, students and Dr. Lacey. The students and staff are very excited to finally be in their new spaces!
With that being said, there will be some construction work taking place as the contractors finish up small items on the inside of the buildings, finish the new visitor and student drop-off entrance, and quite a bit of outside work that starts as soon as the south building and the last remnants of the cosmetology lab are demolished and the new parking lots are installed.
A building dedication ceremony is planned for Friday, May 10, so save the date in your calendars. More details will be forthcoming as we get closer to May.
