Students,

Should you have an emergency or immediate concern, please contact CrisisCare at 937-224-4646.

During this time I suggest that you try stay physically and mentally active:

  1. Follow the directions provided by public health officials and the Governor. They are all working your best interest. This also includes checking your MVCTC email daily for any new updates.
  2. Communicate with each other. Make sure you avoid negative social media and focus on the health and well being of your friends and family. We are all experiencing anxiety surrounding the unknown and the best method to curb anxiety is to talk to others. Stay positive and be kind to others, they may need it now more than ever.
  3. Be active. Go outside, exercise, draw, read, cook, and watch old movies or TV shows. The important thing is to do something positive to get your mind off of the news and restrictions.
  4. Clean. Not only is it very important to make sure everything is nice and clean to prevent the spread of the virus and your parents/guardians will appreciate the time you may have to assist, but all of you will be graduating in a few months or next year and it is important that you organize your belongings. Your parents/guardians love you, and cleaning is a great way to help them out and burn off some of the nervous energy you may be building up over the next few weeks.
  5. Research your career field. What can you do during this time to help prepare you for your next adventure in life? Seniors you may want to complete the FAFSA, apply for colleges, other post-secondary trainings, or apply for jobs. Juniors take time to research your career choice and make a list of things that will help you achieve your goals and will set you apart from others. Although MVCTC does not have online lessons right now, they may be available in the future if we receive better information from state and federal government contacts. In the meantime, take time to learn things on your own that interest you. MVCTC always encourages you to be a life long learner so now is a good time to explore what really interests you.
  6. Maintain a positive routine. Know that adjusting back to normal, when that time comes, will also be a change. Maintaining a positive daily routine will greatly assist in this process.

Understand that many of our normal life activities will be temporarily changed for the time being by restrictions imposed by the local, state, and federal leadership. It is important to be respectful and mindful of those restrictions and know they are imposed to help the health and well being of us all. Understand that we are ALL in this together and together we will get through this tough time. We will all be sacrificing something in the hopes of getting back to our normal lives as quickly as possible.

FOCUS ON YOU AND STAY HEALTHY!
