Description

Assist the entire team with the daily tasks of providing medical care to patients while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Restrain animals for examinations and treatments. Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and exam rooms. Check in patients and place in exam rooms. Stock supplies in all areas of hospital. Fill medication prescriptions. Prepare blood, fecal, and urine samples for laboratory testing. Any general housekeeping tasks that may be needed to ensure the hospital stays clean with a professional appearance.

Skills

Must be comfortable around sick, injured, scared, and/or stressed dogs and cats. Have professional communication skills and phone etiquette. Ability to follow instructions quickly and correctly. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (e.g., lift 50 pounds unassisted and restrain dogs up to 100 pounds). Ability to work well within a team in a busy, fast paced environment. Experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a hospital or clinic is preferred.

Days / Hours

Monday - Friday and every other Saturday

Pay Range & Benefits

$12.00 - $16.00, pay will be based on skills and experience
