Summary of Position and Duties:
The Seasonal Intern will support the Operations Department with environmental management and general maintenance activities for the Miami County Park District. Primary responsibilities include conducting conservation fieldwork, performing routine maintenance tasks, and engaging with the public. Maintenance duties will involve tasks such as repairing park infrastructure, maintaining trails, cleaning facilities, performing landscaping, and ensuring general upkeep of park grounds. Fieldwork includes monitoring habitat conditions, controlling invasive species, and assisting with various natural resource management projects. The intern may also help Park District staff or partner agencies with public programs and special events. This position requires some strenuous outdoor activities in challenging conditions. A valid Ohio Driver’s License is required and must be at least 18 years of age.

The Internship Program provides students learning and training opportunities to:
• Advance their knowledge and understanding of resource conservation;
• Gain exposure to the operations of a Park District;
• Develop research capabilities and technical, field and leadership skills;
• Apply knowledge learned in the classroom to hands-on field experience;
• Be mentored by environmental professionals and explore career possibilities.

Days / Hours

Our parks are open 8am-Sunset all 365 days of the year. We have opening and closing shifts each day of the week.
