What is CTSO Week? It is a week to celebrate Career and Technical Education and the amazing successes all of our Career Technical Student Organizations have on campus. Did you know we have eight student organizations on campus? Yes, Business Professionals of America, FCCLA, FFA, SkillsUSA (1,2,3 and 4), and HOSA. Every student at MVCTC is a member of one of these groups. This is a great week to learn more about what other programs at MVCTC are doing to prepare for career success!
During this week (February 6th to the 10th) the CTC will be celebrating CTSO Week. It is held each year to raise awareness about Career Technical Education. During this week we will be having various events happening around campus to celebrate CTSO week. Throughout the week will be having themed dress days. Monday will be Super Hero Day, Tuesday will be Tie Dye Tuesday, Wednesday is Home School or Favorite Sports Team Day, Thursday is MVCTC Spirit Day, and Friday is Wear Red for Special Olympics Day. Please see the morning announcements and make sure you are following CTC dress code requirements at all times during these days. Also, running the entire week during lunches we are doing a Chain of Love competition by CTSO. We will be selling chain links during lunches all week. The links will be 25 cents a piece or 5 for $1 dollar. The money will then be donated to the Special Olympics. The winning CTSO by PERCENTAGE donated will win a Cookie Party. Please see your advisors or officers for more information. This is all for a great cause. GET OUT THERE AND SUPPORT CTSO WEEK!!!
Events Planned:
* The most important thing to remember is the school dress code MUST be followed during the dress-up days.
Chain of Love - Money donated during Chain of Love will be given to the Special Olympics of Dayton.
What is Special Olympics -
Special Olympics is founded on the belief that people with intellectual disabilities can, with proper instruction and encouragement, learn, enjoy and benefit from participation in individual and team sports. Special Olympics also believes that through millions of individual acts of inclusion where people with and without intellectual disabilities are brought together, long-standing myths are dispelled, negative attitudes changed and new opportunities to embrace and celebrate people with intellectual disabilities are created.
