Columbus, Ohio - Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) SkillsUSA students attended the Fall Leadership Conference on Monday, October 30 and Tuesday, October 31, in Columbus.
MVCTC SkillsUSA Advisor, Jack Spitler shared, “We were well represented with one of the strongest officer candidate teams I’ve had the privilege to work with.”
Three MVCTC students came home with Regional Officer Positions for the 2017-2018 school year.
Also representing the MVCTC Officer Team and running for positions were: Kaylee Thompson (Dental Assisting/Vandalia), Elizabeth Newton (Graphic Commercial Art/Miamisburg), Collin Williams (Graphic Commercial Art/Vandalia), and Charlotte Kozlowski (Graphic Commercial Art/ Huber Heights). Spitler expressed his pride by sharing, “All candidates did very well and represented our school in the best of light. All in all, I count this as our most successful outing in my 12 years as an advisor.”

What started almost 50 years ago as the Montgomery County Joint Vocational School (JVS) has transformed into the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC). While the name has changed, the mission remains the same. MVCTC is dedicated to providing training for in-demand jobs and college-readiness skills for high school and adult students across Darke, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren Counties.
