MVCTC Prom Saturday, April 7, at MVCTC

- Tickets are $25.00 each. Each CTC Student may purchase up to 2 tickets.
- Tickets will go on sale the week of March 26th. Tickets may be purchased in the SAC during lunch March 28, 29, 30 and April 3, 4, 5. Tickets will also be available for purchase before and after school at the cashier’s window the week of April 2nd.
(Payments may be CASH or CREDIT only.)
- Final day to purchase tickets will be April 5th.
- Established Expectation and Outside Guest Approval forms are due at the time of ticket purchase. Both forms can be found on the school website. Non-MVCTC guests must submit a photocopy of a driver’s license or school ID with a picture to accompany the Outside Guest Approval form.
- All guests of CTC students must be under 21 years of age and not a middle school student.
- King and Queen applications will be available in your building front office. That date is forthcoming, please check announcements. Only senior students may apply.

2018 ESTABLISHED EXPECTATIONS FOR THE MVCTC PROM
The 2018 MVCTC Prom will be held on Saturday, April 7th, beginning at 8:00 P.M. and ending at 11:00 P.M., in the Student Activity Center at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center, 6800 Hoke Road, Englewood, Ohio 45315. Students and guests are required to abide by all MVCTC school rules and the established expectations outlined in this document. No refund will be given to a student or guest who is asked to leave the dance for not following MVCTC school rules and/or the established expectations outlined below.
A signed recognition of receipt of the ESTABLISHED EXPECTATIONS FOR THE 2018 MVCTC PROM and a competed 2018 PROM OUTSIDE GUEST APPROVAL FORM (if applicable) with a copy of the guest’s I.D. must be submitted at the time of ticket purchase.
- Any guest over the age of 18 will be subject to a background check. All outside guests must have photo ID to enter the prom.
- All MVCTC students will enter the prom using their school issued ID.
- MVCTC reserves the right to refuse anyone admittance to the prom
TICKETS
- Tickets will go on sale the last week of March. The price is $25 per person. Each MVCTC student may purchase up to 2 tickets. All ticket sales are final; there will be no refunds.
- TRADING OR SELLING TICKETS IS NOT ALLOWED.
- Students or guests removed from the dance or denied entry to the dance will not be given refunds.
- Any guest attending the dance with a MVCTC student must be under 21 years of age and not a middle school student. Proof of age may be needed at the door.
- Any student or guest who is enrolled in school and serving a suspension or expulsion during the date on which the MVCTC Prom is held will not be eligible to attend. Students will not be given a refund for tickets purchased prior to a suspension or expulsion.
DRESS CODE
Formal attire is required for the MVCTC Prom. The following dress code will be in effect. Violations may result in non-admittance. If dress code violations occur after admittance, the student and/or guest may be removed from the dance. If any attendee has a question about the appropriateness of their dress, please consult with your building principal prior to the event.
FEMALE ATTENDEES:
- Dresses are to be formal. Dresses are not to have bare midriffs, cut-outs exposing skin, fit too tight, or ride up as a student dances. Dresses, or any opening in the dress, must not be shorter than fingertip length. Undergarments should not be visible.
- All necklines must be modest and in good taste.
- Stretchy (lycra, spandex, etc.) tight skirts that may creep up are not permitted.
- Strapless/spaghetti straps are permitted.
- Any other attire deemed inappropriate by MVCTC administration will not be permitted.
MALE ATTENDEES:
- Must wear collared shirts with sleeves and dress slacks. Sunglasses and bandanas are not permitted.
- Blue jeans or shorts are not permitted. Undergarments should not be visible.
- Any other attire deemed inappropriate by MVCTC administration will not be permitted.
ADMITTANCE/ATTENDANCE
- Admittance is subject to approval of the MVCTC Administration. Note: Permission to attend the MVCTC Prom is a privilege, not a right, and may be revoked for lack of responsibility at school for reasons including, but not limited to: suspension/expulsion, chronic discipline issues & unsatisfactory attendance.
- Any student attending must be willing to submit to alcohol/drug testing.
- Any student or guests may be searched for weapons and illegal substances prior to admittance into the event.
- No student or guest will be admitted after 9:00 p.m. unless prior written arrangements have been made with an MVCTC Building Principal.
- Students will have student ID scanned upon entry. Any student or guest who leaves without permission during the dance will not be readmitted.
- All students and guests must be picked from the campus no later than 11:05 pm.
GENERALRULES
- All MVCTC school rules and the established expectations outlined in this document are in force during the dance.
- Any student or guest suspected of using alcohol or any controlled or illegal substance prior to or during the dance will be removed from the dance. Parents will be called to escort the person home. Using tobacco at school events is prohibited. Any student suspected of using alcohol or any controlled or illegal substance prior to or during the dance or tobacco during the dance is subject to an out of school suspension and may face criminal charges.
- Students who purchase tickets are required to inform their guests of all MVCTC school rules and the established expectations for prom. Guests are required to abide by all school rules including the established expectations outlined in this document. Any student or guest choosing not to do so will be removed from the dance. The MVCTC students’ parent(s) will be notified and the police will be notified should such notification be warranted.
- Forgery of any part of this document or the guest approval form will lead to non-attendance at the dance and discipline.
- Students and guests are not permitted to loiter in the parking lot prior to or upon departure from the event.
DANCE CONDUCT
School dances are school functions, and as such, students are expected to dress and behave in ways that are appropriate for the school setting. Students and their guests are expected to behave appropriately on the dance floor. Students must recognize that movements and dance styles present in non-school settings or portrayed in the entertainment industry are not always appropriate in the high school setting. Sexually explicit dancing such as twerking, grinding, or any other type of dancing or act which could be construed as vulgar or provocative is prohibited. Dancers must remain upright, with both feet on the floor. Face-to-face dancing is preferred. No “making out” (overt and/or prolonged public displays of affection) Moshing or slamming is not permitted. NOTE: Violation of the dance conduct policy will result in removal from the dance and possible discipline. No refund will be given to students or guests who are asked to leave the dance.
