MVCTC Students Work Together for Chain of Love

02/23/2018

Englewood, Ohio -  During the week of February 12-16, 2018, Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) celebrated Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) Week. Various events were planned around campus to celebrate CTSO week, this included spirit days, guest speakers, CTSO videos, and the Chain of Love Challenge to raise money for Special Olympics.

The Chain of Love Challenge ran the entire CTSO Week with students buying chain links for $.25 or five for a dollar.  The winning CTSO by the end of the week was awarded a cookie party and the CTSO Week Trophy to display for the next calendar year.  It was great to see students and staff work together to support the BPA Special Olympics campaign.  At the end of the week, MVCTC SkillsUSA Chapter One was declared the winner! SkillsUSA One includes the Cosmetology and Dental Assistant programs. Working together, MVCTC raised $2,465 for the Special Olympics!

Also during the CTSO Week, the CTSO chapters held their February meetings and shared great results of regional contest winners and dynamic guest speakers sharing motivational and inspiring messages with students.
