MVCTC FCCLA Keeps on Giving

10/17/2019

Englewood, Ohio – on September 27th, FCCLA and HOSA teamed up to put on the annual “No One Fights Alone” walk. All of the proceeds raised went on to help the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and Dayton Children’s Family Resource Connections.

Everyone had the opportunity to participate in the walk if you donated $1 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and one hygiene item to Dayton Children’s Family Resource Connections.  Students walked around campus and participated in different fun activities which included FFA’s petting zoo, SkillsUSA Chapter 1 getting your face painted, making ‘Be Kind’ cards, and much more. The week of the walk and during the walk students had the opportunity to also buy MVCTC water bottles for five dollars. To participate in all of these activities’ students had to bring one dollar and at least one personal hygiene item. Proceeds from the water bottle sales and monetary donations for the walk went on to help the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. All of the personal hygiene items donated and get-well cards made during the walk and at many CTSO meetings went to the Dayton Children’s Family Resource Connections.

Overall the turnout of the event went great! In the end, FCCLA received around 1400 personal hygiene items and over 1200 get well cards. HOSA also had a very good turn out with $511.00 being made on water bottles and $1177.00 from the walk making $1688.00 for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.  Great work and thank you CTC on all your donations they went to two great organizations.
