Dayton, Ohio – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Computer Repair and Technical Support and Network Engineering senior students visited the Dayton based IT company DataYard on November 19.  DataYard is a premier technology company that offers high-speed internet service and support, managed cloud services, data center services, and local IT support.  Students enjoyed a tour of the downtown Dayton facility and learned about how an IT company operates at every level.

Amy Sugden, MVCTC Computer Repair and Technical Support instructor stated, “The staff at DataYard is amazing, and students got to experience the excitement they have for their jobs and the IT industry. Thank you DataYard for this amazing opportunity for our students.”

MVCTC students will begin the interviewing process for IT Internships in December and should begin working at DataYard in January.  DataYard currently employs two MVCTC alumni, Tommy Gauvey and Dylan Kemp, and has hired MVCTC interns in the past.

Tommy Gauvey shared via Linkedin, “It was an absolute pleasure having MVCTC visit DataYard. I am beyond thankful for the staff at MVCTC and DataYard. Not only for all the time they have invested in me but also the future of our workforce. Without MVCTC and it’s staff, I would not be where I am today. I get to do what I love every day with amazing people. Purely because of the TIME the staff invested in me. That is a debt I can never re-pay, but I will prove to them that their time did not go to waste. I am also grateful that DataYard allowed MVCTC to come and tour our facility.”
