MVCTC Program of the Week is Precision Machining! Students will learn to analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools. Precision Machining instructor, Mr. Mike Deeter, has been teaching at MVCTC for 21 years. He shared that his most rewarding part of teaching is "hearing from employers that students past and present are working and doing an excellent job for them. It is great to hear from employers that they are impressed with the knowledge and abilities the students have in Precision Machining. And I enjoy just being around the students and sharing their excitement about learning new skills."
Mr. Deeter shared that he wants people to know, "That there are so many great career opportunities that a young person can obtain with a precision machining background. My program offers an ODE Pre-Apprenticeship the senior year. After graduation, students are qualified to work as a tool & die maker, CNC programmer, manufacturing technician, mechanical engineer, and much more."
