Valley View-MVCTC FFA attends Spring Contests
Valley View-MVCTC FFA members participated in 3 invitational contests and the State Preliminary Contest. Students participated in the following contests: General Livestock Judging and Equine.
General Livestock Judging teaches students to recognize quality and consumers by experience in identifying and understanding characteristics that affect production and quality. Equine teaches students the current horse evaluation, selection techniques and management.
In total 22 FFA members participated in the 4 contests.The highlights of the contest include:
- Equine Judging Placings-
- 71st/175 individuals at Marysville Invitational Contest- individual Lauren Lawson
- Livestock Judging Placings-
- 3rd/112 teams at Mercer County
- 5th/92 teams at Wilmington Aggies
- 6th & 9th place individual at those contests- Justin Michael
- 4th/42 teams at Indian Lake
- 4th place individual Charity Moore
- 13th/179 teams at State Prelims
- 3rd place at State Finals- individual Morgan Michal
Morgan Michael qualified for the State Livestock Judging Finals which were held on April 29th.
