Englewood, OH: The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) has four SkillsUSA Chapters on campus. All four chapters held their second quarter meetings the week of October 30, 2023. The emphasis was on understanding all that SkillsUSA offers regarding leadership training, team building, and competition opportunities.
SkillsUSA Chapter 1 meeting was on Monday, October 30, with speakers discussing leadership opportunities available by running for a regional officer position. They also conducted teambuilding activities and discussed their fundraiser, Socktober, which collected over 3,000 pairs of socks for Shoes 4th Shoeless. They also collected personal hygiene items for a local charity organization.

The SkillsUSA Chapter 2 meeting discussed the upcoming SkillsUSA Fall Leadership Conference, where regional SkillsUSA Officers will be elected. Current SkillsUSA Chapter 2 president Ian Pitzer, was elected as a regional SkillsUSA Officer at the 2022 Fall Leadership Conference. He shared his experiences and encouraged new students to get involved with SkillsUSA.
SkillsUSA Chapter 2 programs are Auto Collision, Auto Services, Auto Technology, Aviation Maintenance Technician, Precision Machining, Pre-Engineering, Robotics & Automation, and Welding. 2023-2024 SkillsUSA Chapter 2 officers are:

The SkillsUSA Chapter 3 officer team conducted the full SkillsUSA Opening and Closing Ceremony. They demonstrated the Emblem Ceremony, shared the SkillsUSA Framework, discussed the Fall Leadership Conference, and had guest speakers Ashley Combs (Digital Design) and Ian Pitzer. Ashely is running for a regional officer position this year, and Ian was elected as a regional officer last year.
SkillsUSA Chapter 3 programs are Criminal Justice, Digital Design, Graphic Commercial Art, Graphic Commercial Photography, and Firefighter/EMS. 2023-2024 SkillsUSA Chapter 3 officers are:
Emily Powell, SkillsUSA Chapter 4 president, introduced guest speaker Mr. Joe Weaver, a 2001 alumnus from the Construction Carpentry program, MVCTC Hall of Fame Inductee, and Construction Superintendent for Level MB Construction. Mr. Weaver shared the importance of Potential, Networking, Integrity, and Honesty.
SkillsUSA Chapter 4 programs are Architectural Design, Construction Carpentry, Electrical Trades, HVAC, and Heavy Equipment Operator. 2023-2024 SkillsUSA Chapter 4 officers are:
