Anayelli Granados Awarded TOOLS Program Scholarship

Huber Heights Schools and the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) proudly announce Anayelli Granados as one of this year's recipients of the TOOLS Program Scholarship. Anayelli, a student in the first-year welding program, has been selected as a top finalist, earning her a $1,000 scholarship along with a specialized trade toolkit.

The TOOLS Program Scholarship, recognizing outstanding achievement in skilled trades education, is a testament to Anayelli's promising future in the welding industry. Working with her welding instructor, Ms. Kaitlin Rose, Anayelli showcased her talent by submitting a welding project video to the TOOLS program Instagram page. Her submission stood out among entries from numerous high school senior skilled trade students, earning her this scholarship.

Anayelli Granados will be honored at the TOOLS Program Excellence in Construction Awards Gala on April 24th.

Calvin Sweitzer's Welding Projects Benefit Foster Children

Calvin Sweitzer, a Huber Heights-MVCTC welding student, has mastered various welding techniques and demonstrated a heartwarming commitment to giving back to the community. Under the guidance of his instructor, Ms. Kaitlin Rose, Calvin has turned his welding skills into a source of support for foster children.

Calvin has created intricate projects, including roses and turtles, showcasing his versatility and creativity in welding. Inspired by his newfound skills, Calvin seized the opportunity to contribute to a charity organization supporting foster children. With the charity's upcoming auction, Calvin created additional roses and a turtle to raise funds. His efforts brought in an impressive $1,500 at the auction.
