MVCTC Congratulates Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Recipient

05/01/2024

We're thrilled to announce that MVCTC Computer Coding & Web Applications senior Arantza Rivera from Huber Heights has been selected as the recipient of the 2024 Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship.

The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship is a prestigious opportunity that provides students up to $40,000 in paid tuition to attend the college they choose. Additionally, recipients will receive a paid internship offer at Amazon after their freshman year of college, allowing them to gain valuable practical work experience with mentorship from Amazon leaders.

Winners of the Amazon Future Engineer (AFE) scholarship also receive an offer to complete a summer industry internship after their freshman year of college. AFE interns work embedded on a software or hardware engineering team and pair up with a co-intern, manager, and mentors to build projects that have a real impact on Amazon customers. Interns get to work on some of Amazon’s groundbreaking technologies and core platforms, like Alexa voice technology, Amazon Web Services, and the Amazon retail platform. At the end of the summer, most interns ship production-level code to Amazon!

This comprehensive scholarship package goes beyond financial assistance. Scholars will engage in networking opportunities with their peers and Amazon employees, receive skills development and mental health resources, and have access to an emergency grant fund for unexpected financial obligations that might prevent them from attending school.
