This summer, MVCTC launched an innovative pilot project in partnership with our Adult Education and Aspire departments and the MonDay Community Correctional Institute. Building upon a longstanding collaboration with MonDay, which has provided GED classes for many years, this new initiative aims to equip MonDay residents with not only a high school equivalency but also an industry-recognized workplace credential.
The first cohort of the pilot program, consisting of eight female residents nearing release, recently completed their training. These participants received specialized instruction from the MVCTC Adult Education department, supported by the Aspire Integrated Education and Training program. We are proud to announce that all eight women successfully earned their industry-recognized credentials in ServSafe Food Handler and Person in Charge, preparing them for future opportunities in the food service industry.
Looking ahead, the pilot program will expand in September with a new class of male MonDay residents. They will participate in the Rise Up credential program, which focuses on developing customer service skills and retail fundamentals. This additional training will further enhance their employability and readiness to reenter the workforce.
We are dedicated to providing premier educational choices and advanced employment preparation for youth, adults, and organizations of the Miami Valley.
