MVCTC Pre-Law & Legal Studies Juniors Visit Ohio Supreme Court for an Inside Look at Ohio’s Judicial System

ENGLEWOOD, OH – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Pre-Law & Legal Studies junior students recently had an exciting opportunity to visit the Ohio Supreme Court in Columbus. On October 30, the students explored the Thomas J. Moyer Judicial Center, delving into the state’s highest court's rich history and learning firsthand about the significance of legal precedent in Ohio.

During the visit, MVCTC students toured the historic Judicial Center, home to the state Supreme Court since 2004. The tour highlighted the building’s impressive architecture and artifacts representing Ohio’s legal heritage. Students also learned about the Ohio Supreme Court's pivotal role in shaping the legal landscape across the state, setting key precedents that guide lower courts and impact citizens statewide.

MVCTC’s Pre-Law & Legal Studies program, open to high school juniors and seniors, is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in law, government, public policy, or criminal justice. The program provides a foundational education in legal concepts, public speaking, and criminal law, alongside hands-on experiences like courtroom simulations and visits to legal institutions. Students are equipped with critical thinking, communication, and research skills—essentials for success in higher education and the legal profession.
