11/12/2024

Brookville, OH -- November 11, 2024 --

On a crisp November day, students from the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Criminal Justice program gathered at Rob’s Restaurant for a memorable event in honor of Veteran’s Day. Wearing aprons and warm smiles, the students assisted with a special lunch service dedicated to honoring the veterans of their local community.

As the doors opened, the students warmly welcomed each veteran, shaking hands and guiding them to their seats. Working together, they prepared plates and served hot meals with the utmost care, ensuring every veteran felt the gratitude that echoed through the room. Students listened to the stories these men and women shared between servings—stories of bravery, resilience, and sacrifice. It was an experience that left students with a profound appreciation for the dedication of these individuals.

MVCTC’s Criminal Justice program provides students with a strong foundation in public safety, including courses on criminal law, ethics, and police procedures. Students in the program earn certifications, such as First Aid/CPR and the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy certification, enhancing their employability. Additionally, they can earn college credits through Sinclair Community College and Hocking College, giving them a head start in their education and careers.
