Students from the Graphic Commercial Art (GCA) lab at MVCTC represented the school during the 2024 SkillsUSA Ohio Fall Leadership Conference in Columbus. The event brought together SkillsUSA members statewide to enhance leadership skills, build connections, and compete for regional officer positions.
GCA seniors Macey Alcorn (Huber Heights) and Coleton Moore (Miami East) participated as local chapter officers, showcasing their leadership and dedication. Meanwhile, juniors Brook Russell (Northmont) and Stella Czarnecki (Vandalia-Butler) ran for Southwest Regional Officer positions, with classmates Catie Zbinden (Huber Heights) and Dallas Gillian (Miami East) serving as voting delegates to support their campaigns.
During the conference, the students attended leadership breakout sessions, networked with peers and industry professionals, and took part in the regional officer election process. Their hard work and determination were rewarded as both Brook Russell and Stella Czarnecki were elected as 2024-25 Southwest Ohio Regional Officers!
This accomplishment is particularly impressive as Brook and Stella were among nine finalists chosen from a pool of 40 candidates across the region.
"We are incredibly proud of all our GCA students for their dedication and success this week," said their instructor, Lauren Roeth. "The leadership skills they’ve developed through SkillsUSA will serve them well in their future endeavors."
Congratulations to all the students for their outstanding efforts and achievements, reflecting the values and excellence MVCTC aims to foster in every student.
