MVCTC Recognizes December 2024 Students of the Month

Englewood, Ohio – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) is proud to recognize the outstanding students selected as December 2024 Students of the Month. These students have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and achievement in their respective career-technical programs and academic coursework.

Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture

  • Emery McConnaughey (Vandalia Butler) – Medical Office Management Program. Emery has exhibited excellence in academics and work ethic, maintaining a positive attitude and strong dedication in the lab each day.

  • Alayna Lyon (Preble Shawnee) – Business Ownership Program. Alayna is currently on an internship, excelling across multiple departments and set for full-time employment upon graduation. She serves as the MVCTC BPA Chapter President and has earned numerous accolades, including first place at BPA Regionals for Prepared Speech.

Health and Consumer Sciences

  • Lynzie Hamilton (Trotwood) – Biotechnology Program. Lynzie has excelled in her research project, collecting valuable data independently while assisting in teaching visiting students during Pathways and Sophomore Career Day.

  • Makai Kincaid (Vandalia-Butler) – Culinary Arts Program. Makai stands out as a leader in the kitchen, excelling in both lab work and public speaking. He has represented MVCTC at elementary school visits and the FCCLA Leadership Training Camp.

Trade & Industry and Graphic Arts

  • Kathryn Wilcox (Wayne) – Aviation Maintenance Program. Kathryn won the SkillsUSA National Competition for Aviation Maintenance as a junior and continues to set the bar for her peers while serving as an MVCTC Student Ambassador.

  • Shyanna Cunningham (Arcanum-Butler) – Construction Carpentry Program. Shyanna showcased her enthusiasm and leadership by assisting visiting sophomores in constructing tabletop bean bag games during Sophomore Career Days.

MVCTC Satellite Programs

  • Kaylee Ritchie (Northmont-MVCTC CCL) – Kaylee has shown remarkable dedication by completing four full academic credits by early October, enabling her to transition to full-time work and graduate early.

  • Annette Lavy (Franklin Monroe-MVCTC BPA/FFA) – A dual BPA and FFA participant, Annette is recognized for her outstanding work ethic, leadership, and volunteer contributions.

  • Elaine Rhoades (Brookville-MVCTC Agriculture) – As the FFA Chapter President, Elaine leads by example, actively participating in all chapter events and spearheading the formation of the meats judging team.

Academics

  • Ayanna New (Arcanum - Culinary Arts) – Recognized for her reliability, positivity, and deep classroom insights, Ayanna exemplifies commitment to excellence.

  • Noah Seim (Dixie - Architectural Design) – Noah consistently seeks and implements feedback, maintaining high personal and academic standards that make him an asset to MVCTC.
