MVCTC Students Excel at SkillsUSA Ohio State Championships

Englewood, OH – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) students demonstrated outstanding skill, professionalism, and dedication at the 2025 SkillsUSA Ohio State Championships, held March 17-18 at the Columbus Convention Center. This premier event brought together over 5,000 competitors, business and industry partners, instructors, and vendors to highlight Career and Technical Education across Ohio. Competitors vied for the title of best in the state in over 100 contests spanning all 16 Career Pathways.

MVCTC is incredibly proud of all the students who competed and grateful for the dedicated advisors and staff members who make this opportunity possible. A special congratulations goes to our medalists, who earned a total of 10 awards across multiple categories.

MVCTC Medalists:

  • Kathryn Wilcox (Aviation Maintenance Technician / Huber Heights) – Aviation Maintenance – Gold (Two-time gold medalist)

  • Alexander Wooten (Aviation Maintenance Technician / Arcanum-Butler) – Aviation Maintenance – Silver

  • Macey Alcorn (Graphic Commercial Art / Huber Heights) – T-Shirt Design – Silver

  • Addison Dankworth (Graphic Commercial Photography / Tipp City) – Photography – Silver

  • Ainsley Gier (Graphic Commercial Art / Tri-County North) – Art Show – Bronze

  • Brianna Williams (Graphic Commercial Art / Huber Heights) – Advertising Design – Bronze

  • Lucas Howell (Electrical Trades / Tri-Village) – Industrial Motor Control – Bronze

Congratulations to Brook Russell (Graphic Commercial Art / Northmont) on being elected a SkillsUSA Ohio State Officer for the 2025-26 school year. Additionally, special recognition goes to Kathryn Wilcox for her exceptional achievement as a two-time gold medalist in the Aviation Maintenance Contest
