MVCTC Culinary Art Students Succeed at Regional FCCLA Competition

Englewood, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Culinary Art students recently competed in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) regional competition. MVCTC students brought home 15 medals and had eight students qualify to compete in the State FCCLA Contest April 22-24, in Columbus.
MVCTC students winning awards at the regional competition included:
- Angel Woods (Northmont) and Hannah Crary (Tri County North) earned a Gold Medal in the Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation Contest and qualified for state
- Kara Nuss (Miami East) earned a Gold Medal in the Job Interview Contest and qualified for state
- Caitlin Hurd (Milton-Union) earned a Gold Medal in Illustrated Talk Contest and qualified for state
- Erika Kimball (Arcanum) earned a Gold Medal in the Life Event Planning Contest and qualified for state
- Brook Henson (Preble Shawnee) earned a Gold Medal in the Applied Math for Culinary Management Contest and qualified for state
- Emily Mihalko (Miamisburg) earned a Gold Medal in the Pastry Tray Contest and qualified for state
- Tyara Moore (Northridge) earned a Silver Medal in the Entrepreneurship- Contest and qualified for state
- Gabrielle Seitz (Valley View) earned a Silver Medal in the Entrepreneurship Contest
- Joshua Wilkerson (Wayne) earned a Silver Medal in the Applied Math for Culinary Management Contest
- Kaite Poynter (Northmont) earned a Silver Medal in the Garde Manger Contest
- Jenessa Mobley (Eaton) earned a Silver Medal in the Pastry Tray Contest
- Sarah Walker (West Carrollton) earned a Silver Medal in the Pastry Cake Contest
- Jylian Cain (Miamisburg) earned a Silver Medal in the Pastry Cake Contest
- The team of Devin Rock (Franklin Monroe), Gabrielle Seitz (Valley View), Don Carter (Dunbar) and Taemar Awalom (Northmont) earned a Silver Medal in the Culinary Arts Team Event
- The team of Maggie Gooslin (Milton-Union), Courtney Smith (New Lebanon) and Mariah Poling (Northmont) earned a Silver Medal in the Culinary Arts Team Event
