Englewood, Ohio – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) FFA Chapter attended the 2015 Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum in Carrollton, Ohio. The members that attended are the following: Lauren Muncy (Eaton); Nick Wheeler (Milton-Union); Keva Cox (Valley View); Abigail Nealeigh (Arcanum); Mikhala Martin (Northmont); Logan Dickison (Milton-Union); Zak Peele (Franklin Monroe); Aaron Abner (Eaton); Kyle Butz (Carlisle); Patrick Rooks (Miamisburg); Perla Rosales (Miamisburg), and Lauren Penley (Northridge), and Lyndsey Carmack (Miamisburg).
The theme for 2015 was “Sail Away with FFA Camp”. Throughout the week members were separated into fleet groups. They participated in multiple activities such as volleyball, softball, basketball, tetherball, ping pong, and corn hole. There were also other opportunities and games like shotgun, rifle, or archery ranges, creed speaking contests and a group project/ presentation about water quality.
Early in the morning, before breakfast, they also had a Polar Bear Plunge, or a Sunrise Walk/Run just to get up and moving for the day. MVCTC FFA Reporter, Abigail Nealeigh shared, “FFA Camp was really fun and taught team building skills and how to work together.”
According to the National FFA website, “The National FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.”
For over 40-years, MVCTC has been providing career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties in Southwest Ohio. MVCTC is dedicated to providing in-demand workforce training for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley.
