Englewood, Ohio - The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture (EBITA) Department under the leadership of Supervisor, David Peltz, recognizes a Student of the Month each month during the school year. The award honors outstanding accomplishments and leadership in Career Tech Education.
September EBITA Students of the Month
Mikhala Martin, student in the Veterinary Science program taught by Dr. Christa Nealeigh; Lucas Gauldin student in Game Programming and Web Applications taught by Mrs. Melissa Goodall; and Bryant Fox, student in Business Ownership taught by Mrs. Mandy Watts. Each student received a plaque to honor their selection as student of the month.
Mikhala Martin, Northmont High School, is a student in the Veterinary Science program. She is a FFA CTSO Officer serving as the student advisor, has outstanding attendance and is a team leader/player. Her instructor, Dr. Nealeigh stated, “Mikhala is a team player in the Veterinary Science classroom and she is an exemplary student to recognize for her commitment to MVCTC.”
Lucas Gauldin, Franklin Monroe High School, is a student in the Game Programming and Web Applications program. He has volunteered to assist in class while being a classroom leader. His instructor, Mrs. Goodall stated, “Because Lucas studied Java over the summer, he’s becoming a positive role model for other students.” Lucas also volunteers at the Dayton Boonshoft Museum of Discovery leading students through Lego Mindstorm Bot Building, programming, and competitions.
Bryant Fox, Ansonia High School, is a student in the Business Ownership Program. Bryant serves as a student ambassador and is a great classroom leader. Mrs. Watts stated, “He portrays a positive attitude on a daily basis, and he is always helpful to his classmates.” Bryant was named Darke County Fair King, won several awards for his horses, and he leads his 4-H group, all while maintaining excellent academic scholarship.
Congratulations to Mikhala, Lucas, and Bryant for being recognized as the Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture Students of the Month at MVCTC.
For over 40-years, MVCTC has been providing career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties in Southwest Ohio. MVCTC is dedicated to providing in-demand workforce training for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley.
