On May 6, 2016, seven members of the Brookville-MVCTC FFA Chapter attended the Ohio FFA Convention, which was held at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus. Members in attendance included: Zach Chambers, Logan Williams, Jess Miller, Erin Tomlin, Christine Grow, Emma Madlinger, and Sarah Virag.
On May 6th, FFA members toured the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Science at The Ohio State University. Members explored college classrooms and labs, learned about the 22 majors offered, and heard about opportunities for student involvement and study abroad. Members attended the Fourth Session at Ohio FFA Convention, where chapter officers were recognized for achieving a Gold rating on their 2015-2016 FFA Officer Books. Logan Williams received an award for his gold-rated Treasurer’s book. This session also featured 2015-16 National FFA Eastern Region Vice President, Sydney Snider, as the keynote speaker. Through a motivational speech, Sydney encouraged students be aware of what is going on around them and to live in the present. Members also explored the Convention Career Show, which highlighted agricultural businesses, colleges, and careers.Â
