On Wednesday May 11, 2016, the Brookville-MVCTC FFA held their annual Farm on the Lawn. Over 500 Brookville Elementary preschool, kindergarten, first, second, and third graders attended the event, which was led by 19 FFA members. FFA members planned the curriculum for 10 agricultural-related stations, which included llama, market lambs, a horse, chickens, dairy goats, plants, rabbits, pizza bracelet, tractor safety, and cattle.
The following FFA members participated in Farm on the Lawn: Cam Alber, Haley Brown, Zach Chambers, Chase Davis, Christine Grow, TJ Hunt, William Jones, Josiah Kirchhoffer, Emma Madlinger, Tanner Marburger, Jess Miller, Alex Monnig, Shelby Rogers, Devyn Thomas, Erin Tomlin, Mikayla Van Berderode, Sarah Virag, Logan Williams, and Melissa Allen.
The day was a huge success and we could not have done it without the support of many people. We would like to thank Mrs. Hinds for her support of the event and assistance in scheduling the day. Thank you to Elementary teachers for bringing their classes out and supporting the event and the students for their involvement and excitement. Thanks to Lifetime Embroidery for printing our t-shirts. Thank you to Andy Early and family for bringing dairy goats, Zach Chambers and his parents, Lon and Michelle, for bringing cattle, Christina Smith and her mom, Vicki, for bringing lambs, TJ Hunt and his parents, Patti and Dave, for bringing a llama, Sarah Virag and her mom Monica, for bringing chickens, Randy Osswald for bringing a horse, Emma Madlinger and Christine Grow for bringing their rabbits, and Alex Monnig and Shelby Rogers for bringing tractors. Also, thanks to Brookville Schools staff members Matt Maleski for bringing gates and Scott Petry for providing tables for the event. A big thank you to Brookville FFA Alumni members Randy and Sharon Goddard, Randy Osswald, Christina Smith, and Doug Uhrig for their assistance with Farm on the Lawn stations and to Michelle Chambers for taking pictures.
