Seven members of the Mississinawa Valley- MVCTC FFA chapter attended FFA camp in Muskingum, Ohio. The members that attended were: Trinity Konwiscka, Dalton Marker, Jennifer Teegarden, Madison Stachler, and Makayla Coning, Peyton Rammel, and Casey Carrico. The students were assigned camp chapters, and they were to work with the chapters throughout the week. In the chapters, the campers met new people and worked together to get through different challenges given to them by camp staff.
Throughout the camp there are many activities and tournaments that the campers could participate in. The students could enjoy kayaking and canoeing on the lake or play a game of basketball, volleyball, tetherball, or ping pong. Other activities included shotgun, rifle, and archery. Throughout the week there were tournaments held for each of the events. People from each chapter participated against other chapters and points were awarded to the winners for participation.
There were workshops given by the counselors about the aspects of leadership and individual learning styles. They discussed with the campers what makes a good leader and the students came up with qualities that would make a person a good leader. They also discussed the different leadership styles that every person has and every student found out what his or her personal leadership style is. All of the students enjoyed their time at camp and they learned a lot. The chapter would like to thank everyone who donated money to the annual pie auction. The pie auction fund helped offset the cost of camp for these members. Mississinawa Valley- MVCTC Agriculture Program and FFA Chapter is a satellite of Miami Valley Career Technology Center.
