Miami East-MVCTC FFA Urban Soils Team Competes at State
During the competition the contestants evaluated land for building houses with basements, septic systems construction and maintenance, building of local roads and driveways, and landscaping. Additionally, they took a written test and soil survey test.
The State Contest was held in Licking County, west of Columbus, Ohio. Competing from Miami East were Dylan Hahn, Emily Thimmes, Micah Gaines, and Caitlin Fryman. The team placed 28th in the state out of more than 50 schools. Highest individual from Miami East was Dylan Hahn, placing 53rd. It has been six years since Miami East had a team qualify for state soils.
