Things to consider to get good shots.... When you do this assignment. Talk about composition and Rule of Thirds. Rule of Thirds research sites- Dividing image into tic tac toe board. The intersecrtion of the lines is the strongest focal point, the lines are second strongest focal point |

Assignment: Aperture and Shutterspeed Part 1: Aperture Measured in f/stops. The camera will be set on AV mode (Aperture Priority), you will be taking a series (the exact same image, don't change the angle or portion of the camera). Line a series of object up in a row place your focal point in the center or focus on a subject with a busy background. Take 3 images using the highest F-Stop, A middle F-Stop and a Low F-Stop). You should see the DOF get smaller around your focal point. - 3 images, Change your lens to one of the prime lenses. Do the same thing. – minimum of 2 images Part 2: Shutterspeed Take 2-3 pictures using a slow shutter speed (a little over 1 second) and one faster 1/200 or higher) You will have to have the camera steady and the item moving. Use a ball a matchbox car, a rolling chair... come up with something creative. Part 3 What to turn in: Make a contact sheet of the above pictures (there will be 7 or more photos) Example: Aperture, Canon T7, ef-s18-55mm |
